On Saturday, December 11, 2010, Evolver Long Beach and The Long Beach Time Exchange joins LBCreative!, Lyon Art Supply Vayden Roi Galleries, and a host of community organizations to bring forth “MixMás – a collaborative celebration of community, art and culture”. Happening concurrently with Lyons at Night and 2nd Saturday Art Walk, this absolutely free event takes place jointly at Lyons Art Supply and neighboring Vayden Roi Galleries, located at 425 E. 4th St. Long Beach, CA 90802.

The event begins with a film screening, a card making workshop with the Long Beach Time Exchange, DJ's, unique handcrafted gift vendors, and food at 4pm.
Healing Mystical Science Collective will be blasting off in the early evening, playing a special experimental space noise set, before some electronic space funk from CAV3, the angelic harp magic of Peter Sterling, and artists recently featured on the Evolver Mixtape such as classical singer and guitaristTara Rose Davison and the indie pop of Paper City. Dave Jacobs will perform a special set of poetry to his BMX videos, and Lawrence Ervin mixes video with Psylite, Rahfeezahkee and Zeroh on the psychedelic gadgets, after a set from punk band The Potential Lunatics.
With generosity in mind and a strong focus on giving, Mixmas will offer a food and clothing drive benefiting local charities. Guests can enjoy a 40% discount on supplies until 10 p.m. at Lyons Art Supply.

Tara adds adjudicator to her list of professional activities as she judges the Santa Monica Unified School District Kiwanis Club Competition. Tara won first place in this competition when she was 15 and again when she was 18.

Tara will be a featured soloist in the annual black tie fundraiser for the University of Colorado at Boulder's voice program. This year's theme is "Saints & Sinners."
Tara will appear as soloist with the Lamont Symphony Orchestra singing “Mio padre!...Parla, siam soli...Piangi, fanciulla†from Verdi's Rigoletto with baritone Darnell Ishmel.
Premiere of a cycle of five songs for soprano & piano by by Hunter Ewen.

The first in a series of two graduate recitals. Tara will perform works by Handel, Poulenc, Broqua & Strauss. In addition to singing, Tara will also play guitar. Guests include Sara Parkinson (piano), Beth Rosbach (cello), Michael Tilley (piano), Carey Harwood (guitar) & Julia Barnett (flute).

Watch, listen and enjoy Tara star as Rosalinda in Johann Strauss' comedic opera.
As one of six finalists Tara will compete in the Ekstrand competition. Other finalists include the Aredt/Hsu Duo (violin & piano), Carl Dixon (percussion), Tom Szott (tuba), Julia Tobiska (mezzo-soprano) & Cobus du Toit (flute). This black tie event promises a virtuosic display of the University of Colorado Boulder’s top musicians. Don’t miss out.

Tara will perform the role of Sister Rose in Jake Heggie's contemporary opera based on the novel.
Tara will perfom Verdi's "Sempre libera" in remembrance of Berton Coffin, an important figure in vocal pedagogy.
